- When spending the day out in the sun in a bathing suit, make sure to apply sunscreen around the cleavage area. Yes, even when you don't think you have cleavage. Also make sure to re-apply liberally, and often.
- When that cleavage area is red from too much sun exposure (see #1), you shouldn't go bra-shopping. Trust me. Underwires + sunburnt cleavage = ouchies.
- When applying sunscreen to legs, don't forget the back of the legs. Nothing's worse than #1 and #2 unless your bottom-of-the-swimsuit area is also red. Now you can't sit comfortably. This one's a freebie. I just thought of it. Plus I saw quite a few red-people who are surely (still) paying for their negligence...
- Speaking of legs. Don't miss any spots (#3 notwithstanding)... It is not possible to shave sunburnt legs, or wear jeans that won't rub on the sunburnt spots. Because they only rub on the sunburnt spots.
- If putting hair up into ponytails or pigtails, make sure any scalp exposed is also slathered in sunscreen. Who cares if there's white goo all over your head? You'll appreciate the fact that you're not constantly wincing when brushing your hair later...
There you go. Now go be sunburn-free.
Don't forget the ears! Many a time I have gotten the tops of my ears burnt. Not the worst place to get burnt, but the worst place to peel and be itchy!
ReplyDeleteI'd like it if you checked my blog out sometime! withmonsters.blogspot.com
Ears, totally agree. I grew in S. FL, ears can get burnt sooo bad.
ReplyDeleteOMG. I cannot believe I forgot the ears. Sheesh!! Thx for the reminders!
